Same as the 'Sex Tape' thread, but now its relaxation. Thought it was pretty apt at the time of year, exams and all. But I know that there are certain songs that relax me whenever I need it?
Portishead - Give Me A Reason to Love Bjork - Come to Me Tracy Chapman - The Promise Madonna - Drowned World/Substitute for Love Norah Jones - One Flight Down Goldfrapp - Black Cherry Joni Mitchell - Blue Sugababes - One Touch K D Lang - Hallelujah or her version of my favourite song, Case of You Aretha Franklin - Until you Com Back To Me

erm, falafel.... who are these people you speak of? i ain't heard of any of them. i thought i'd heard of billy bragg, but then realised i was thinking of melvyn bragg, lol.
Nico was in the Velvet Underground. If you've seen the film the Royal Tenenbaums, it's the song that plays when Gwyneth Paltrow gets off the bus in slow motion. (...?)
Serge Gainsbourg did 'Je T'aime', that famous song with all the sex noise. (Ah, mon amour...)
Astrud Gilberto did 'The Boy form Ipanema', and also does a great version of 'Light my Fire'
Billy Bragg sang 'I don't want to change the world / I'm not looking for a new England / I'm just looking for another girl'. Oh, and 'Sexuality', which was rubbish.
Rufus Wainwright - come on, everybody loves Rufus!
Bjork - what more can I say, she's just the bestest.
All the others are a bunch of obscurish indie or folk bands, but trust me, all the songs are incredible, especially the Iron and Wine one. Just him and a guitar, low-key and lo-fi.

back in the days when i was in the sixth form (seems such a looooong time ago) one of my friends was continuously playing a band called sister hazel. 'twere well good, and very relaxing. really ought to try and find a copy of it somewhere (if someone has it lurking in their collection, i'd perform sexual favours to get a copy).
