Hey. its that time of the semester again, where i go on and on about LUUMS. so here we go again!!
LUUMS Symphony Orchestra and Choir will be performing a concert on the Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of March in aid of Cancer Research UK and MIND, the Leeds-based mental health charity.
The programme consists of Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Sheherazade' and Carl Orff's 'Carmina Burana' in the Great Hall at 7:30pm.
Balcony tickets are £6 LUUMS members, £8 students, £10 others Stall tickets are £5 LUUMS memebers, £7 students, £9 others
It promises to be an absolutely fantastic concert, and you will get to see fellow society members Annie and Alice singing their hearts out.
Spread the word. Who fancies it? I think most people will only be able to go on the Saturday as it is ThaiDave's meal on the Sunday.
Ooh, I didn't know you were playing in the LUUMS concert, Phil! I guess it explains why I haven't seen you on Monday evenings.
Don't be put off by my singing! The rest of the choir sounds great, and for those of you unfamiliar with the Carmina Burana, it's a very interesting piece, about fortune, spring time, drinking and love.
In fact, the lyrics are quite bawdy, but you wouldn't know that just by listening. (Well, unless you're proficient in Middle German and Latin.)
Gutted now cos I wer kinda lookin 4ward 2 it when ya told me bout it Alice, If am feelin better by friday n can drag me arse outta bed n move round not feelin like death warmed up i'll do me best 2 get there xxx
