So as JK and I both have a bit of affection for some Motown/Soul music, I was just wondering what people would think if we added a bit of that sort of music to the playlist(s) for ¿Curious?
Stevie Wonder? Diana Ross & Supremes? Four Tops? James Brown? Martha & The Vandellas? Vote with your, erm, fingers!
hurrah for Motown. If you were there at the last instalment of Curious nice and early, you would have heard some Diana Ross and some Stones! Ahhh, Mum would be proud!

Sounds good to me. Stevie Wonder definately, and some Supremes, and though it is slightly edgeing away from Motwon, Mr Bigstuff by Aretha Franklin as well.

Maybe JohnK & I should club together to do a set seeing as though we're the DJs who are interested in it? I reckon it'd be a nice little set to put at the beginning..
I wouldn't mind a bit of Sly Stone, & even Kool & the Gang - they sort-of fit into the soul/funk category don't they?
I also have a bootleg of Sly Stone with Beyoncé which is fabulous! (Crazy Love Affair) I heard it before the original Beyoncé & I still prefer it!
Oooh I like Norman´s! When I went there they played Ladysmith Black Mambazo´s Call me Al, it was excellent.
Artist: Paul Simon Album: Graceland Title: You Can Call Me Al
A man walks down the street He says why am i soft in the middle now Why am i soft in the middle The rest of my life is so hard I need a photo-opportunity I want a shot at redemption Don't want to end up a cartoon In a cartoon graveyard Bonedigger bonedigger Dogs in the moonlight Far away my well-lit door Mr. beerbelly beerbelly Get these mutts away from me You know i don't find this stuff amusing anymore If you'll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal I can call you betty And betty when you call me You can call me al
A man walks down the street He says why am i short of attention Got a short little span of attention And wo my nights are so long Where's my wife and family What if i die here Who'll be my role-model Now that my role-model is Gone gone He ducked back down the alley With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl All along along There were incidents and accidents There were hints and allegations
If you'll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal I can call you betty And betty when you call me You can call me al Call me al
A man walks down the street It's a street in a strange world Maybe it's the third world Maybe it's his first time around He doesn't speak the language He holds no currency He is a foreign man He is surrounded by the sound The sound Cattle in the marketplace Scatterlings and orphanages He looks around, around He sees angels in the architecture Spinning in infinity He says amen! and hallelujah!
If you'll be my bodyguard I can be your long lost pal I can call you betty And betty when you call me You can call me al Call me al

I suspect that if you can find a motown mix you would be in luck. Otherwise, playing Judy Garland will probably results ina lot of people saying farewell to Curious very quickly

Oh yea u can not go wring. as much as i love byonce , britney and christina, You can not help but love Rose Royce's version of car wash so much more!!!
By the way, what do people think about some Jackson 5 being played? Thought we could keep it topical & go for Can You Feel It? (The one The Tamperer sampled, if you don't know it?)
...Well if you're talking about f00k-off music, you really need to ask JohnK anyway, because his set will be at the end , if last time is anything to go by.
Along with at the beginning and in the middle, of course.
We could maybe make it Old skool/ Classic Indie or Rhythm & Blues stylee music? Bit like Brighton Beach night at the union, or Wednesdays at HiFi, except with more music that people know?
A couple more ideas for songs include: Kinks - You Really Got Me Gloria Jones - Tainted Love The Who - My Generation Gladys Knight & the Pips - I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Just to say, if u gave me the decs for curious I would really hot up that dance floor. Lets visualise my ideal play list
the Clash (Yes), Nivarna, (wooh), The Killers, Undertones, Muse, The Pixies, The Manics, Green Day, Scissor Sisters The Strokes, The TR Band Velvet Underground Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin Thin Lizzy, Guns a'roses Queen, The Pansy Divison, Iggy Pop, The Stones, Blink 182 The Zuttons, Morrissey, Futurehead, ECT
o please let me have ago, I've been thinkin about this for ages and i'm house trained and everything.
