The train leaves at 20:08, don't forget your railcards!
We'll be going to a few bars on Canal Street, then John will take the people who want to go to Poptastic to Poptastic and I'll take peoplewho want to go to Essential to Essential. We'll meet up afterwards at the train station.

Appologies Rich for not coming tonight. It soundslike its gonna be wicked! Thanks for the invite Enjoy yourself everybody! May Beyonce/ britney and charlott be with you!
For those of you that have been to Manchester before, I am sure you know how wicked the nightlife is there. If you haven't been before, your certainly in for a treat! It's gonna be great.
Both Essential and Poptastic are great nights out. Essential is Manchesters biggest club and plays pop, rnb and dance over three floors (think Homo but better!!) and Poptastic plays kitschy pop, cheese, indie, rock, hiphop, metal, punk and electro over 2 rooms.
Whereever you end up you'll have a great night! Look forward to seeing you there!
JOHN xx

I so wish I could go. I think if I did though, I'd infect everyone else with my horrible cold that I'm only just getting over. And I seem to have slid further into lack of money. Damn loans. Essential will have to wait.
Just got out of bed. Last night was interesting. Fun though. Apologies for all the heart-on-sleeve-wearing I did at certain points; emotional lability is the downside of cheap cava.
Thanks all for organising that, was good to have a taste of what our cross-pennine friends have to offer.
Don't even want to start thinking about how much it cost me.
[Richard stumbling around Leeds Station at 5.40am with bloodshot eyes trying to get money out of the cash machine:] "Machines not working! Give me money! For a taxi!"
And then he stumbled off into the night...
Personally, it was a good evening, until I decided to walk home at 6am and get chased by a tramp.

That was quite funny!!! Was a really fun night, lots of very bizarre moments, most of which i don't really remember. Ooh yes before the night even started, those drunk blokes singing all the way on the train, wtf?!?!?
Cheers to everyone who organised it cos it was a great first trip to Manchester, and one i would definately do again!
Oh and glad you got home ok John and Alice, I nearly got lost and had wierd people following me, but found my way eventually, at 6:30!!!
sounds like i missed a whole lot of fun, as i tend to. oh well, money was the issue, and most people seem to ahve spent a lot, knowing me, id have ended up buying drinks for some people randomly, so it would cost me more than would be good for me.
A big THANKS to everyone who helped organising the trip and to everyone who attended it.
For me, the night started with losing a cash card and ended with me waking up(about 7am) in a suite of the nearby Victoria hotel.
Being with all you was actually the most enjoyable part of the Manchester trip. I reckon any trip with you must be an Exciting experience. In Cambridge LGB life was so boring for me. Leeds 4 ever!!!!!
Above all, MANY THANKS to the golden boys Will & Chris who helped me contact my bank to cancel my card.
I admired the dancing skills of some of you, especially after so many drinks. Manchester has a great gay scene, and it's a pitty that Leeds can only offer 10% of all this. Count me in if you are planning another Manchester trip again. I am so shy, I could not imagine me daring to do that again just by myself.
The culmination of the night out was me being left all alone in the club. err, or almost 'alone'. A very cute student from Edingburgh noticed me looking for you and told me: 'Don't worry, your friends left you' I said : Don't worry?? What do you mean? Who said I wanted to get rid of them?' - It was me who wished it and it happened, he said. Would like to come over for a 'drink' to my hotel?
The rest you can imagine. Now, i am back to Leeds safe and sound (and sane)
Living in Manchester drains you. I go back pretty regularly and it's now become a treat again. I lived there again at the beginning of summer and it was cool as I was with one of my closest friends but I am undecided as to whether I'd live there full-time again. Going out all the time is great but going out on any scene too much gets boring.
