Hey guys and girls, although, sadly, this thread is more for the guys... but read on girls if you like The next men's meal is going ot be on Monday 24th October and, seeing as Joey was a complete star organising the last one, i've decided to pull my finger out and find out where you peeps wanna eat this time round (peeps? am still addicted to weekly wind-down RnB sesh that was going on - i actually found myself craving guns, bitches, a fur coat and a private jet, but that's not why we're here)
Anyway, i digress... Speaking as someone who eats lot's of food, i think these meals are a brilliant thing, and above are the options of where we shall eat... (The more knowing of you will spot my favourite) Poll closes on Thursday and will be added to results from coffee hours i'm at. It was nice to see so many guys at the last meal and i hope more come along this time! If you've not been to any events so far i reckon this is a pretty sound introduction, so don't be shy! We don't bite!
We're gonna meet at 7:00pm by the Parkinson steps and then after the meal we're probably gonna invade Leeds infamous Queen's Court! This will be confirmed by email at a later time!
i'm sorry, but the No1 buffet is SKANK!! bella pasta is nice. there really is no choice tho if u want to go to a nice italian, go to pizza express, is well nice there
Tampopo has a nice atmosphere. If it is during the day, I would recommend a cosy and quiet pub: eg. Squares has excellent food and nice waiters for the average price of £7. (erm .. the food I mean, not the waiters) However, if the company does not exceed 12 people, then I would opt for the only family run vegetarian bistro in West Yorkshire: ROOTS & FRUITS in the Grand Arcade. I found it very romantic for a Saturday night follow-up meal. I think it closes 6pm though.
what are peoples opinion on japanese food, i need to find a nice japanese place, missing the japanese food, though japanese food does tend to be expensive.
out of the above choices im not too bothered where we eat, though if the chinese place is just plain wrong then maybe no. but cheap is always good, argh hate making choices.

Also: I need to scope out the good restaurants in Leeds. Don't know any yet!
Dammit, I'm so thick. That last post was ME not Willbur, lol, he was still logged on my computer and I didn't notice.
If you like Italian, head down to Bi Bi's. Pricey on a student budget. But some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. Oh, my workmates Dad owes part of it, so good get some discounts............................. emmmm sounds nice. Loving Italian food also

If you like unexpensive Japanese food, the place for you is Little Tokyo, a nice restaurant a bit further up from the place where the High Fi club is. I love the place, but I've not been there since I got back. I miss it!

Will if your looking for good restaurants, I suggest you don't come out with the LGBT.C heap and cheerful is our usual motto :)
But if you want somewher a bit posh I head that Anthonys off Boar Lane is pretty swanky, as is Room.
I ate in the Art Gallery Café a few Sundays back and it was not great at al and very expensive.
I vote for Bella Pasta. But if people want to go for a curry, 7 Spices on Woodhouse Street (very near the Park) is fantastic :)
I agree with Apo thou with Tampopo. it's very good food. It's nice fusion-asian stuff and is relatively cheap. I think students get 20% off too, Monday - Thursday.
:)
Oooh and Alez, a new sushi place has opened in the Electric Press complex, if it's faux-japanese food your after.

i have no idea where the elecrtic press complex is, and ive heard little tokyo is quite expensive. im not sure what im actually lookin for as far as im aware, the place i used to go was authenic japanese stuff, with sashimi that was actual raw fish mmmmm that was yummy.
also wasabi is always good, i always went by ' if you dont choke you need more wasabi'
Im not too fussed where I eat but the Greggs tour sounds good.... altho how many Greggs are there exactly?! Tampopo is a really good restaurant I have to say! Despite its name Babycream is also quite a nice place to eat and the restaurant part upstairs is very swanky..... although the prices are just as expensive to match....

Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but you're a total bitch.
Speaking of good and relatively cheap, anyone else been to Fat Cat? Just near BabyCream, it's fantastic in that it's like Gastro-pub but with an 'i used to be a bank' kind of feel. Good food, good pricing!
fat cat is gorgeous food. around £8 for a meal so depends on your budget but well worth it. drinks are a bit pricey though and a professional atmosphere.
i went for dinner there about 2 weeks ago and it was lovely
Yeah i change my mind yet again, and as i don't know anywhere i can probably deal with any place, even if it is a tour of the seemingly hundreds of greggs stores around the city.

Ok, Greggs tour sounds fun but I worry...
...I'm from Wigan. Pie's and I...we have a mutual understanding. I don't bother them, they don't bother me, when it comes to meat and tatty I HAVE NO WILLPOWER! It's in my genes and once you start on one pie (or *shudder* pasty) then it's like a pie flood and the pastry baked goodness spills over the damn in a horrifying wave of golden brown tastiness killing everyone in the valley below and reducing my carefully constructed mentally to shreds.
Also my pants have 'obviously' shrunk since the start of term.
...I have far too much time on my hands. (or, actually, I don't but it's either this or my philosophy essay... )
Polls closed! After coffee hours that i was in this week and results collected from then it turns out that Bella Pasta is the most popular with oriental skanky buffet coming in a respectable second. The greggs tour may be considered for a future lgbt event... we'll keep you informed! Special thanks to John K for mentioning 7 spices... i now know where to get my curries from!
