Well, being a writing student, it was inevitable i posted on here eventually, heres something I wrote in Wakefield Bus Station earlier:

Heaven knocked on my door,
Death sat down and gave birth
to some bastard child tonight,
An ethereal wind blew the curtains
the open window crashed shut
the glass shatters on the floor.

Someone re-wrote a holy book,
A vengeful God was made a vegan,
and the rest of the world saw nothing
wrong with what happened, they didnt
know what to think anymore.
And so they wrote this song:

Heaven knocked on my door,
My answer, some Utopia, screamed,
down beneath the seas of Atlantis,
A wave ripple, that crashed into
Camelot, and all the names of
Gods and religions became one.

I sweep up the glass, my shard
reflection calls my name, I hear
a voice in the frame, its mine
or is it? I cant tell, the broken
sounds, like some boy trapped in a well,
And so I wrote this song:

Heaven knocked on my door,
I dont answer, I'm cleaning
glass, the mess, the mess.
I cant let someone so high
into a messy house, but you
see it all anyway.

Heaven knocked on my door tonight.

Wow! Loving the multiple layers. Also the way you can sound serious and conversational within a single line!
