Myself a few others in the Faculty of Medicine and Health (School fo Social Work) have organised a World Aids Day Awareness event (1st Dec). And, like last year, it promises to be a fun filled day with Aids/HIV related quizes, information sessions and, I have personally organised seven short 15 minute workshops (running at same time) so plenty to choose from.
Last year was HIV and mental ill health. This years theme, is enthnic minority, specifically African. So plentey of input from relevant groups. And an Africian music workshop and food is all available on the day. So pleae come along and show your support. All workshops are free, but all monies raised from the various Africian ethinc beadwork, drawings/paintings, clothing etc, stalls (there are other none ethinc stalls also) are donated to charity and research.
It is happening at the Leeds Uni Wakefield site, but if enough people are interested, I can try and arrange a mini buss or something to take all down to the event. Just let me know.
Again, please Guys, show your support for such a worthwhile cause.
