What a good movie, it shone out above the others as a beacon of hope for the next three, al though the story was cut down alot and the acting hammy in parts it was very well done. the cinimatography was much diffrent to the other 3 films, much darker and more brooding lights and back drops, lingering tension and of course very good but not over stressed special effects. Brimming with creepy frissons as well moments of tension and sadness, harry potter and the goblet of fire is an hightly enjoyable film as was well worht whatching... Mr Darcy x
I LOVED it. Not just liked it. LOVED it. I read the book years ago, though, so maybe that's why I can't point out the absences, but it really grabbed me, and it shows us a much casual and natural Hogwarts on the one hand (I love the nitty-grittiness of the whole place, so rich in detail and atmosphere) and a much more heroic side on the other hand, without seeming fake or over the top.
Radcliffe has improved a lot, and Grint seems less forced and more genuinely funny. However, of the three of them, it's Watson who really shines in this film, I think.
So good to see they're using Maggie Smith a bit more. Miranda Richardson is hilaaaaaaarious as Rita Skeeter. Michael Gambon only gets better and better as Dumbledore, and Mad-Eye Moody (can't remember the actor's name) is amazing too!
Even the annoying Phelps twins are good in this. Honestly, the whole cast is just amazing!
And the direction is much bolder than in previous films, with interesting shots and camera angles, and with a much bigger emphasis on real emotion.
Big round of applause to Ralph Fiennes as Voldy. It's strange how he can still look sexy with a weird nose! Must be the jaw line.
And as regards the fitties.... Krum is fit, but Diggory is cuter.
Will comment more later.
