Ben, I read the entire thing, and I thought it was very well presented. IUt sounds like you all got something very important out of winter conference, which of course, is a GOOD thing! : )
the only problem is your reference to the newspaper. we have to be careful that the political stances we choose to make as LGBT individuals, and as a society, do not impinge on the freedoms of others. Though the delegates from thos eother universities have undoubtedly had success in their dealings with THEIR uni papers with regard to LGBT issues, I canīt help but feel that anything like "the newspaper has to run all LGBT related articles past X body" is tantamount to censorship. Itīs a fine line, Iīll admit, between helping a body like the paper out with article on topics one specialises in, and having to run all those articles past someone official, but...well...thatīs just asking for trouble I think.
Still, I can see where you and the other delegates are coming from, and that you all intend only the best. With regards to your thoughts about ablism on the scene, Iīm in almost full agreement - except where you use the term "body fascism". Sorry, but I have to say I really donīt like that phrase, lol! Apart from that, bloody well written, and quite inspiring Liking the LGBT history tidbits too...I for one would love to see greater knowledge and understanding of LGBT roles in history. Maybe a couple of banners around campus with stuff about Sappho, Hadrian and Antinous, Alexander and Hephaistion, or even Achilles and Patroclus? Ooo, what about Cybele and Attis?

I am famous for my disdain for Leeds Student and the majority of it's 'jounralists' who write jumped up self righteous drivel. But I certainly agree with you here Sash.
Ben, your repot is thorough, so I didn't read it all! What I did read though was excellent.
