Congrats to everyone!! I leave the committee with tears in my eyes (sniff!) but very happy to see all the amounts of enthusiasm.
Commiserations and sympathy for people who didn't get elected. But don't forget you can still get involved in the Society even if you've not been elected! It will make you look very good and prove your committment if you're considering trying to make it into the committee next year.
Just like to say congratulations to the new committee and my best wishes that the next year will be an all round successful one for you all. This has been a pretty difficult week for me, so I wasn't able to sign up earlier in the week and couldn't make it to the agm. However, I'm glad that things have gone smoothly. Best wishes to Drew et al, Steven. xxx

Why could it have not been spanned over a period of days considering we are all university students with deadlines to meet and additional responsbilities that must be kept to on certain days?
Society members' voices have been silenced due to the restriction of voting procedures.
wat rich dont me and emily get our vote counts put down?

Because ti would be impossible to administer? It would be a lot more work? Who would manage the ballot box? Would it have to be open all day? Would only non-standing members be allowed to operate the ballot box? How would you hear everyones speeches? Would this mean 'flyering' would be allowed? It would be open to much more abuse?
This is the way most societies operate their committee voting. The society simply doesn't have a big enough membership to justify having a three day open voting system.
This way is the most fair, the least work for an already overworked committee and the easiest way to ensure that the system isn't open to abuse.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of us don't have lectures in the evenings and can spare two hours to vote at the AGM. It's not as though the event wasn't publicised in advance. Some Committee members themselves couldn't even attend, but that's the way most elections are held. Keeping votes open over several days is completely open to abuse and isn't fair to the people voting or the people standing, as JohnK rightfully pointed out.
Also, congrats, new committee! I'm sure you'll do an amazing job. (Even if the Treasurer doesn't know what 7x8 is...)
With all due respect, if you really wanted to come to the agm and make your vote you'd have probably done the essay a little earlier? Another chronic anonymous complainer Cheers Alice and JohnK
