Thought i'd just put up a post sharing my absolutely brilliant random day, cos its put me in a really good mood
Had been chatting 2 my ex other nite (still really good friends wi her) n decided that we had 2 meet up cos we'd not seen each other for over a year, anyhow she came up 2c me 2day cos it wer my day off & after ringin me outta the blue at 11am to tell me she wer at the uni so i better get outta bed, we ended up havin the usual dinner n coffee in a cafe with abit of a chat n going over past memories about all the mad stuff we used 2 do n days we spent 2gether.
The conversation kinda led on2 wot we used 2 do with our spare days 2gether (jump on a train n go 2 a random city) & well we had this little mad flash of inspiration and decided that an immediate uplanned day trip 2 Scarborough in her new car would be fun. So we ended up in Scarborough & spent the day messin about in the arcades, visiting the shops, walking along the beach n paddling in the water (froze my feet off), making sandcastles n buryin each other in the sand, before bringing a sandcastle home in the car (literally have, its now in our bathroom n shes called Bertha).
Was lovely tho cos I've not seen her 4 ages, nowts changed, we r still proper immature round each other and it wer just awesome to have a day relaxing & been big kids, as well as the whole thing bout hanging out 2gether and catching up on whats happened.
Dunno guess am just rambling now, but thought I'd jus share my good mood with ppl. Has anyone else ever had a really gr8 unplanned day thats put them in a brilliant mood?

Awwww, Nic, that sounds lovely! I also love going on random trips, even if time is so precious... :oP
Two of my friends who study at the School of Education have to plan an activity involving children in a rural area. Since neither was of "rural origins", I suggested going to my nan's village to gather some information. When we got there the weather was gorgeous, and we had a lovely country walk. Then we went to see the mayoress (can you say that?), and that was funny, cause all the shutters were down, and we thought she might be sleeping, what with it being the Easter vacation and before midday! When we gathered up the courage, we rang the bell, and she came out instantly... she turned out to be a lovely lady, who gave us lots of information, and offered us wine before we left (her family is in the wine business). One of my friends accepted it, but she was driving, so I ended up having MY glass, and HER glass... two glasses of wine before midday, on an empty stomach. Er... We decided something had to be done about it, so we went to the local pub, to which I hadn't been for twelve years, and had a snack. It was still the same! I relived so many memories. :o)
Then we went to see my nan and my aunt, and they told us a story about how when the road used to get flooded, their neighbours opposite crossed the road on a big basket-cum-boat kind of thing. HAHA!
Ah well, end of my corniness.

They are the best days tho. I've had loadsa random days, but the Scarborough one was just brilliant cos me n Marie are really good mates n always have been, well apart from the first time we met.
Mind u saying that we met when we were playing footy, our college hated theirs and I was in goal (i lose my temper really easily in the net), she kept winding me up and making jibes at me so I tried to take her head off twice that day. It all got sorted out a few months later tho, were both at a regional colleges tournament & both there as bench warmers due to injuries n we got talking cos we were frustrated cos we couldn't play, ended up swapping numbers and keepin in touch. A few months later we randomly decided 2 meet up n go 2 Nottingham 2gether, had a right laugh n started hanging out more having random days, got really close n got together, carried on havin random days. Split up cos i came to uni here n she were staying at home (rival town 2 mine). Hadn't seen her since last November when she came to Leeds cos of stuff she'd got goin on back home.
Was just really cool to spend time together again and do it in a completely random style.
