Short notice, but Hey! Haven't you been at that computer for too long anyway?
Since you all seem to be of a poetic bent, I thought I'd let you in on a secret. Blueprint (the creative writing society) has a monthly 'open mic' night. Eurghhh! I might hear you say. Indeed, I usually hate these things. But there is soo much talent at this thing and it is the most chilled space you could imagine.
The poetry's pretty cool, but (and this gives it the edge over Sticks and Stones) the vocalists are tear-jerkingly beautiful. You can't beat live performances and this is Leeds Uni’s premium talent.
Bring your own wine. There is cake at the door.
The Flux Gallery, 16 Midland road, Hyde Park. (Go 2 roads down from Moorish [Kensington Terrace] and take a right halfway down that road [it's by Desperate Dan's Record shop]). If you can't make this one, they will continue next year.
For various random, haggard reasons, I was stuck at home tonight. Really sorry I wasn't there guys. I heard the vocalists were great - and they gave out CDs???!! Was there really a performance dancer there too?
I promise next year I'll take the train up and sing something from The White Album. I'm working on While My Guitar Gently Weeps, but it doesn't sound quite right yet on my voice. I may have to rewrite it a little. But. You know. It's a Beatles track. Change is damage.
To be fair, I really only came to LGBT a few times. I don't recognise many people on here. Only just discovered the forum. Much cool stuff. Great way to avoid revision.
Oh well, sorry about that Mr Vernon Breconboy. good intentions and all that...
yes. so, perhaps in two years time or something. //(It's so weird not to be able to say, 'perhaps next year', as I'm going abroad next year for Uni so won't really (if at all) be around.) Odd
I hope it was a great night.
I so wish my brain hadn't let me down again. Excuses aside, it sounded like it would have been fun!
