I went to see Jerry Springer - The Opera yesterday at the Bradford Alhambra. Not only was the audience gayer than the crowd at the Goldfrapp gig last year, (and those that went to Goldfrapp will know that's a feat in itself), it was the best thing I've seen in ages. Funny, clever, offensive, trashy, intelligent, moral and immoral all at the same time.

Some choice lines are:

'When your dead and buried under grass
I'll dig you up and f u c k you up the ass"

"C u n t! C u n t! C u n t! C u n t! C u n t!"

[Enter the Virgin Mary] "She was raped by an Angel!"

"She's a Chick with a Dick - with a Heart"

"Nice to see all the lesbians in" (to which a huge roar was heard, the lesbians were in fact out in force)

"Dip me in Chocolate and throw me to the lesbians!"

"Three nippled cousin f ucker"

and other such delights

The highlights of the show definitely were the tap dancing Klu Klux Klan and "Chantelle" who played the stripper. Her voice was amazing!

If you get the chance, go see it! It's on till Saturday and isn't sold out as far as I know, though it was packed yesterday!
