I've just bought this film and watched it and have to say its pretty amazing and has certainly left an impact on me which is what I find makes a film good in my opinion... What do other people think of it? Or what films have left you wondering/ponderous/bewildered once the titles start rolling up?

Never seen downfall, but if u like films which make an impact on u n leave ya like check out...

Crash. It's all about racism and the different racial conflicts between all minority groups and how prejudice can affect things. Its absolutely ****ing brilliant, has a really strong message to it & there is abit which had me holding back tears. I NEVER cry at films.

The Laramie Project. Covers the Matthew Sheppard incident and looks at homophobic views and changes of opinion in a small town following his murder. All the words used in the film are those of the laramie residents & all the news footage from the incident are used in it. Showed it in a coffee hour last year for part of Queer Week, don't know if you were there for it tho. Its a really powerful film tho. First time I saw it I cried my eyes out.

If u aint seen either of them & wanna borrow them I'll quite happily lend u them

Downfall - utterly harrowing
Crash - was really surprised how much I liked it
Laramie - very disappointed, the material could have spoken for itself, it's a shocking thing, but through direction/editing/etc was turned into something a little bit not right instead.

All three really worth seeing though, for various reasons.

Sam - can't be arsed to log in x

I love downfall! Went to see it at the cinema when it came out and was the only person rolling around with laughter when Hitler said to his secretary... "you will have to correct me occasionally, sometimes i make mistakes when i dictate" Which was either a cracking tongue-in-cheek joke... or one of those dodgy german-english translations. The film is really really hard-hitting... i'm pleased it pulled no punches... Watch Maria Full of Grace if you fancy a good film on Columbian drug smuggling.

Wow, I've been looking at info on Der Untergang (Downfall). Apparently Finnish spies made the only known voice recording of Hitler speaking privately, in a train. It was discovered in 1991 and Bruno Ganz used it to perfect his accent in the film. Apparently Hitler used a "working class" dialect.

The producers have publicised that, upon hearing of the premier's success, Traudl Junge (Hitler's secretary) murmered "My lifework is accomplished. Now I can release" dying just hours later. Some poeple just don't know when to stop stage managing.

Will be seeing that shortly. Just been made to watch Wedding Crashers and, had I not had a very appetising chinese on my lap, would have left the room immedeately. Who gave that funding? Quite exciting to see Jane Seymore naked though. Always had a thing for the medicine woman.

Oh My Lord! Dancing Cloud shot Mary-Lou-Anne in the flange. It's alright, I changed her bandages...she's sleeping now.

Actually, Jane Seymore has done exactly no good films. Later this year they're releasing The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell, in which she plays the president. My favourite title is 1977's Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger in which she plays Princess Farah. Apparently a prince is turned into a baboon. I wonder if it's so bad it's good?
