Watching this clip made me wonder. Is it possible to convince fervent homophobes that their belief is wrong? Or once a hater, will it take a miracle to change their views?
What do you guys think?

Making a huge generalisation here... but i think people who conceive a deep-rooted hatred for something are tunnel-visioned, impressionable and often hard to talk round to your way of thinking. Especially if you are the hated party. Trying to convince people that gays are evil is thus a hard thing to do. If its your little old granny, who thinks only of ancient tombstone campaigns, AIDS and what her husband told her about trench warfare, then maybe its easy to talk her round. Point out that nice orange man who presents the lottery or that nice man that sings the song about taking your mama out all night.... However, If you are appealing to a mob, or people who outright denounce homosexuality, then its going to be much harder. Especially when you consider that they have committed themselves outright to this public display of hatred. Social conformity and all that jazz plays a role, and the person conforms to the role of 'gay basher.' Its unfortunate that things like this exist, and i don't think that any person, so self-righteous and gay-loathing, someone who hates the concept of homosexuality so much that they are willing to go to the funerals of gay men, could be persuaded by words or protests.
