The thread "Communications Officer Manifestos" - for the 2006 AGM - was deleted for privacy reasons. But to ensure transparency and demonstrate that the current officer is not trying to hide anything, her manifesto is re-posted here.

Why should I be communications officer?
Well for a start my degree belongs to the Institute of Communications Studies, so it's kind of an area I know about.
I enjoy distributing important information to others
I am organised, work well to deadlines and punctual, so you'll always be well-informed as to what's going on and when
The society's email account and websites would be easily managed
For those of you without easy access to a computer, I've been quoted as saying "Ooh, posters are fun", so I could stick some snazzy ones up on the society board for events
Obviously I'm a good communicator, which would come in handy with this role!
I never have a bad word to say and am quite diplomatic, so I can put important things across in an unbiased manner
I've enjoyed being a part of the LGBT this year and would love to facilitate other members' happiness from it
Aims
To provide everyone with a good service
To bring a little happiness/inspiration with each email
