vera. full name Vera duckworth this is the charicter who she plays on corrie. She does have a real name but no body knows what it is because she has been on corrie for so long. Its roumered she lives on set and that if she steps out of the street she will cease to exsist. she was once the moyeress of leeds i think.

Just checked the wikipedia entry on Vera Duckworth (I REALLY hope no one I know saw me looking at that) - she used to live in Leeds when she was little but she's never been mayoress. Which is kind of a shame, it would've been funny.
