The AGM will now be held between 5 and 7 on the 15th of March which is a thursday in the conference room of the arc, where YOU will be able to vote in YOUR new committee. From 7 we are planning and taking everyone down to Xibit, where they are going to host a buffet and pre-mission/post-agm piss up for us.
we were going to put about £400-500 behind the bar in xibit so people can get some free drinks in as well as some nice nosh after the AGM. It works like first come first serve so once all the money is gone you have to start paying for drinks.
Xibit are also kindly extending the student offers that they run, which means with an NUS card you can get even cheaper drinks so the money will go further.
At the AGM you will be given a stamp along with your ballot paper which will entitled you to the free stuff. Thus if you are not at the AGM you will not be eligible for the free drink at Xibit.
Naturally not everyone will be able to make the AGM, as such everyone is welcome at Xibit, they just will not recieve the benefits of those attending the AGM.
As it is a thursday, for a change we thought we might go to mission afterwards? I know you probably havnt been before, so it might be a nice change.....
Right kids just an update and to solidify plans for tmrws AGM.
The AGM portion of the evening kicks off at 5pm, doors will close at 5:30 so you need to be there before. Bring your gold card with you as proof of membership, as obviously only members have a say in the election of the new committee. Reports, speeches and voting will follow henceforth and results will be announced at the end of the evening, around 7 (if all goes to plan!).
Upon arrival at the conference room of the arc you will be supplied with a ballot paper, and a stamp. This will allow you to both vote and get the free booze in afterwards!
We cannot get into Xibit until after 8, therefore in the mean time everyone will go to the terrace for a drink of AGM cheer. The committee, both old and new will go to Xibit directly from the AGM to get everything set up (i.e. the food!).
The happy folk of the society will then therefore arrive at Xibit after 8. There will be £500 behind the bar and a buffet to which you can enjoy. Drinks will include anything from the Xibit promotions menu, so remember to bring your student cards (you need them for mission anyway….). Then you can drink yourselves silly, and we can all go to mission and be merry!
Sadly if you cannot make the AGM you will NOT be eligible to the free drinks at Xibit, but anyone is welcome to join us down there from 8.
