Just a quick thought, does anyone know any of the facts, (seperated from the frequently anti-war b...****, and the lying, manipulative ravings of my number one hate figure at the moment, Dr Hoon) about the troop redeployments being speculated about in Iraq?
I ask, because my cousin works as a military 'fireman', (don't actually know what his actual job title is), and has been stationed in Basra for several months. We're finding it pretty difficult to work out any semblance of truth in all of this, so would appreciate it if anyone knew of who was going to be redeployed to Fallujah etc, and if so, when will they be?
Hoping for some answers, Steven. xxx

I know some soldiers who just got back from Iraq. Apparently there aren't many US troops out there where they were. They are doing essentially the same job as the British troops but the locals will only talk to the British, and will only help the British. The locals out there actually want the UK (and US) to govern them at the moment and hand over the reigns later. They are still subject to strong corruption out there - one minute a police force in Iraq is helping the british troops, the next they are blowing up school buses of children and blaming the British, then being all chummy when the British walk into the police station, etc etc etc. This is what I heard form the soldiers - but then, they were only a few of many who may have different experiences.
