here goes:

we have a sh1t load of books and anyone who joins the soicety can borrow them... so why isn't anyone?

well firstly it's impossible to bring them all to coffee hour. if we had a decent sized office and we could actually hold coffee hour there then we could do that, but unfortunately LUU seems more interested in profit than poofs. hence our having a fire-escape-cum-cupboard in which to store our library.

anyone any ideas on how we can overcome the logistics of the situation? after being attacked on other threads for being a crap committee, one which couldn't organise a nun-shoot in a nunnery, and us being accountable to you lot n all, maybe yous can save us from total failure.

we've got everything from (pseudo)lesbian porn, through ellen videos and queer fiction, to stuff on education policty through secondary, FE and higher education.

they're not books belonging to the committee, they're yours. you did pay to join after all. so suggestions welcome

I was going to suggest something along those lines and you beat me to it. Pah.

I think it'd be a good idea to post the list of titles on the forum as a sticky, and on the web site, with details on how to borrow them. (That is, if one's not already there; I haven't checked.) Perhaps people could email the society with the titles they want and collect them at coffee hour? That's the only suggestion my sleep-deprived brain can think of right now.

Have a librarian. ie someone who is responsible for keeping up to date with the library then have a list if someone wants something that is already out the librarian contacts the person who's got it and lets them know someone wants it. I know it sounds a bit too organised but sometimes in life u just gotta get the postits out and start writing lists with colour coded blobs.

and the librarian could be an ape

maybe

We thought about having a librarian but really that would be just to much hassle. I think having a list of titles at coffee hour and maybe bringing a selection in the box would be the best thing to do.

And we must have a video night reaaaalllly soon. Perhaps a trashy horror night in Dave's living room.
