Due to popular demand - and by this I mean, Dave - here are my random facts in a clear concise presentation of waffle.
1) Orange juice, according to the well-established, high-quality magazine that is HEAT, goes straight to your hips. Full of fatty goodness that everyone woman and gay man needs to bulk themselves out with.
2) The bits in orange juice are cancerous and over-consumption of said bits leads to almost immediate and painful death.
3) Pork pies are good for you, healthy and delicious - as long as it doesnt have any of that nasty jelly like substance in it which is absolutely vile and makes anyone human gip, and sometimes if over-filled with jelly, gets a little bit of sick to come up into the mouth.
4) Communism sucks big fat cock. And whomsoever the committee member of the LUU who wanted to boycott NUS and Coke needs to be hunted down like the pathetic little commi they are and strung up from the nearest flagpole.
i completely understand you're not being entirely serious here, but have you not considered that boycotting coke doesn't automatically mean you're a raging communist and that maybe it would be a good thing for the national union of students to be able to choose what products they sell and offer a choice, rather than be monopolised by an already rich multinational company? just playing devils advocate, why are you so anti communist?

I think he is anti this overly reactionary solution that the said member of union council is attempting to put forward.
Boycotting Coke within our union - and encouraging of NUS unions to do the same IS the right answer to this situation and the most effective, I think.
Pulling out of the NUS isn't. Its a stupid, unthought out and rather dangerous reaction to situation that needs dialogue and direct action, not simply the banishment of the national body which represents all students and in terms of the LGBT societies interests, guides and helps us fight for and put in place our own equality campaigns.
This guy on union council is a complete extremist caught up in the over-the-top, reactionary, 'Not In My Name' world of student politics dominated by white, middle class people who won't give two ****s in two or three years when they have finished their degree and are working as an investment banker and wouldn't know discrimination, inequality or lack of choice if it slapped them in their silver-spoon fed faces.
Bollocks to it all.

To remove water from the ear, one must hop up and down on corresponding foot, with a finger plugged into the opposing ear for exactly 17.5 seconds. (this one actually works)
...and i'm against the banning of Coke(TM). The fact that Coke(TM) is a multinational organisation doesn't mean it monopolises everyone's choice. Pepsi is on offer in the Students' Union shop, as is probably some hippy free-trade Cola.
Or am I missing the point on the Coke(TM) debate? Have they done something naughty that I haven't been alerted to? In which case I still don't care, let the people vote with their feet*, which is surely the essense of choice?
*Or mouths.
Bloody Student Communists trying to wreck our privileged way of life.
The french can be blamed for our lisencing hours because in the 18th century, French wine was extremelty heavily taxed so we learnt how distill our spirits, mainly gin, cos it was cheap etc it lead to the whole nation gettin plastered permanantly, this led to the govenrment increasing taxes and liscencing drinking times
