Queer Week – Events

We’ll be queering up the union everyday with our stall in the foyer, giving out information, condoms and lube and lots of other stuff! Come down and see us!

Everyday in the union we hold our own drop in called ‘Coffee Hour’ between 12pm and 2pm in Meeting Room 5. Queer Week will be host to some Coffee Hour specials, see below!

Monday:

7pm – 9pm – Issues Debate – ARC Conference Room 1 – FREE!
Debates on current LGBT issues including the Blood Donor Ban, Gay Marriage and Religion. Get into ¿CURIOUS? for £1 if you come along tonight!

Tuesday:

12pm – 2pm – Coffee Hour – Meeting Room 5 – Film Screening: ‘The Laramie Project’ – be there for 12.15pm to see the film. – FREE!

6pm – 8pm – Creative Writing Workshop – Meeting Room 5 – FREE!
Charlotte Cooper; journalist, author and general cool dude, will be coming to talk to us about her work and run a short creative writing workshop. Sign up on stall first!

10pm – 2am - ¿CURIOUS? – Bar Phono (in the Merrion Centre) - £2 Entry!
The LGBT’s very own alternative club night is back with cheap drinks, a hugely diverse range of music and lots of queer people! (see flyer for more….)

Wednesday:

12pm – 2pm – Coffee Hour – Meeting Room 5 – Bisexuality Discussion – FREE!

7pm – 9pm – Trans Inclusion Workshop – Meeting Room 2 – FREE!
A workshop aimed at society committees and students on how to better include Trans people in the union.

Thursday:

7.30pm – 9.30pm – LGBT Welfare Workshop – Meeting Room 3 – FREE!
A workshop on new employment rights, coming out, and sexual health for both men and women.


9.30pm – HOMO – Meet in the Terrace for pre-Homo drinks
Remember, if you’re an LGBT member, you get in FREE!

Friday:

8pm – Weekly Wind Down Special!: ‘FRUIT UP FRUITY’ – The Old Bar
Our regular meet-up in The Old Bar will be extended into a Fruity special! We will descend on the rather non-fruity Fruity to fruit it up after a few pints in The Old Bar! All welcome!
