How would we feel about a workshop with a society such as Christian Union in the early part of next year? (Aim being to revoke prejudices rather than batter each other over the heads with axes.)
I think it would be a great idea Dave, since I think there's still alot which needs to be done in terms of dialougue between Union groups and our society. I personally think that because the issues both socially and theologically are so complex a seruous of workshop sessions might be a good idea. Maybe one session could focus on adressing the Christian Union members as a whole looking at attitudes to homosexuality/bisexuality, trans ect and a second one maybe talking about LGBT peoplle and faith, where we could invite queer people from within the Christian union and beyond to come and talk about their spirituality. As I come from a broard Christian tradition I would be more than happy to help with any work we could do with the Christian union. I also have links with the local Quaker house where I go and I'm sure if I asked at some point someone would come in and speak for us Any more ideas anyone?
I'd be interested in this too :) religion is definitely something that seems to crop up time and time again, so it would be great to have the chance to discuss issues in a mediated situation where there are plenty of experiences to share.

one of my objective as societies is about a sence of society community and intergration. I love the sound of this.
I also chair the interfaith forum as a part of me role and there open meetings for all to intergrate, disscuss and communicate all faiths around the union.
It don't atter about your beliefs, don't even know if i have any any more, but hey we need support from the good christian values!
