Hey JK & all, I'll probably be at Pop in the giant NCP car park (which was, admittedly, pretty awful last time), and going out on Fri. On Friday will probably end up at Club Clique at Joshua Brookes (opposite 5th ave - only £3 in!) or at HomoElectric MiniMe party. Or, more likely, both. x
I AM NOT PROUD OF BEING GAY. I AM PROUD OF BEING ABLE TO BE WHO I WANT TO BE WITHOUT FEAR OR PRESSURE FROM ANYSIDE, I'LL BE HAPPY TO HAVE MY MATES OUT WITH ME THIS WEEKEND CELEBRATING BEING US!
*PETE* I'll text you girlfriend! lol *

Manchester Pride was EXCELLENT! Had a great weekend - Homoelectric, Poptastic, Chips, Marching with the NUS LGB Campaign, seeing all my friends - GREAT!
And if your not reading the other thread in this sub-forum, one thing that made pride for me is hearing a man explain to his daughter when walking away from watching the parade that love is love no matter who it is between. Pride does and is making a difference. It raises huge amounts of cash supporting thousands of LGBT people accross the northwest. It is an important political platform (just marching through the city is political enough) and it has been a great chance for me to see all my old friends (and newer ones) and have fun!
MANCHESTER ROCKS!

The funniest part of yesterday was seeing a little 5 yr old kid ask one of the aids campaigners in the parade for a skicker and then watch the kids mother snatch it off his shirt and rip it up in disgust.

oooooh, just found the pics from Pride, and here is my favourite walking float:
They are the S.L.U.T.S, (Salford Ladies United Temperance Society) who shouted such things as 'Bakery not Buggery', 'Families not Fucking', 'Motherhood not Minge' and called many a poof and dyke 'perverts'.
Hilarious!

were they really fascists or were they gay people taking the piss? i can't tell. i was at manchester picadilly on sunday and i saw loads of gay couples, i was really pissed off because i had no idea the pride thing was going on
They were taking the piss... the one who looks like Magaret Thatcher came up to me in the parade and told me I should be conscripted to make me a real man... I also got a sticker saying SLUTS Say No...
