I need a job for when I come to uni and so far only Muji and Rose & Co have places, I've sent them a CV as they said but I need back ups. Does anyone know of any jobs or else I shall be poor and may have to resort to prostitution, which although has good financial propsects, probably has some hidden down side.
Theres the joblink service at university, u basically register there & they send u information about available jobs.
Failing that theres a million n one recruitment agencies around Leeds for telemarketing/call centres and catering services who'll sign u up, train u up n send u out in2 a job.
Also companies will be around at Freshers Fayre handin out recruitment packs (word of warning tho, don't b 2 tempted 2 go 4 casual work for Quintessential Hotels... they'll treat u well but just stop giving you work mid january without so much as a warning & cos staff turn over is so high its hard 2 pinpoint who ur boss wer & get a reference from them... thats wot ****ed me over this year)

I seriously thought about prostitution for the majority of this summer, but decided that for this year, it's just better to be poor. Due to the fact that beign poor is not an option however, you might want to try the www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk website. If you go to the "Advanced Search" function, you can tailor it to permanent/temporary; weekend/night/daytime/semester; >16 hours/16-30 hours/

bars and restaurants around Leeds are always loking for staff, and you'll def. get something if you have experience.
Although, I worked during my first year and the first semester of my second year, and I almost failed. I gave up working during term tiem and just worked extra hard during holidays. It was a bit tight pocket wise sometimes, but it was worth it for my eventual grade. :)
However I know sometimes working during term time is the only thing that will keep you in hot water and beans, so if you have to work, make sure it doesn't interefere with your studies.
Anyway, good luck in finding something!!

Thankyou you all for the suggestions, and Mr Chemicalfears my name is Simon. I do have experience...sort of, I worked in a tea room at Temple Newsam making people tea don't you know and on the odd occasion..coffee, someone has to keep those granny gangs smiling.
On the topic of granny gans, I'm sure a group of elderly ladies with walking aids burglarising a house in Hyde Park the other day...give the hooligans some ASBOs I say...
