In the LGBT Society we don't make people come out in any way. (Committee members are bound by confidentiality and can't ask members to define themselves.) I do see how coming to events could make you feel like you're coming out to other people, though.
I don't really know how to help you. Your best bet is corresponding with our Men's Officer, Joe (you can send him an email via our email account) and go on from there.
