Hey All,

Just letting you know am standing down from been Events Officer & covering Womens Officer stuff.

Basically, I've got too much on with working a 48-hour week, applications and selection tests for the prison service, doing union council stuff, running the assembly and trying to balance doing events and covering womens officer stuff. Unfortunately somethings gotta give cos I need some free time.

Due to dodgy long working hours (10/12/13 hour shifts) and attending union council meetings combined with the sucess the assembly, leading to more meetings with various people and departments, I've been unable to make it to committee meetings and events. I feel this has affected them and I've had complaints about events which I've been unable to deal with in my absence. Due to events been a massive commitment, it needs someone who can offer more time, which I can't.

Also the assembly has had alot of progress within LUU and the University, and has become more demanding, because there's more meetings and things arising out of it which need doing. Therefore it's taking up alot more time and I want to be able to committ to that to ensure that everything keeps running smoothly and successfully, so that things in both LUU and the University improve for LGBT Students.

Don't worry too much tho, Laura's still around for events and any problems that would go to the womens officer can be dealt with by Ally and Laura, who are both female representatives on the committee.

Nic

A person's life is not elastic!

Good luck with your job. It does sound a bit daunting.

And good luck also with the LGBT Assembly. I think there are great things going on on that front.

I tried n I've done best I can. To be honest, since starting at work in november n tryin 2 balance everything, I've literally had no time to myself, my days off have been spent doing LGBT stuff and having 2 sort out other things either before or after shifts. Just hit burn out.

Thanks for the comments about the assembly Alby, I can't believe how far I've got with it & how its all taken off since writing that booklet. There's alot more awareness in the union bout LGBT stuff now, oh &we have dental dams!
