There MUST be some where better than mission!!!! i have been twice and even drunk to try and enjoy that place but to no avail, i culdnt even try to pretend i liked it last night its bad bad bad..... It put me in an awful mood and my ears hurt, why do we call continue to go there!! Curious for example was extreamly fun i though and the music was actualy good and evey one got along great and i wish we could have it more often or at least some alternative to mission because it is quite up setting that its the only real gay nigth in leeds and that is soooooo steriotypical and dull. I know peope love it and i am in no way saying KILL MISSION but i am begging for peopel to start to think of ways we could eather start up or...well i dotn know but i just wish there was somewhere else. Finn does anyone have any good idea or anthing!!!
yes u did look like u were about to take out everyone in there yesterday. wat we need is a gay indie night

I love Fab Café! It's great. It's usually pretty relaxed - on a Thursday when Poptastic was still going strong it was the place to go pre-cockpit so it was full of 'the gays'.
But Mission killed Leeds' only popular indie-gay night with Homo on a Thursday. boo hiss!
Why don't people start 'Fag Tagging' - that is a whole huge group of 'the gays' go to a predominantly straight venue and gay it up!
I snogged my ex in the cockpit on straight night pretty often though too. So it ain't all bad.

I'm leaving in a couple of months but I'd love to see a decent Leeds gay night. Mission sucks. I might be going next week but it's certainly a one off...
Here's to the alternatives, I say!
And, as an aside, is anyone that knows who I am going to Mission next week? I'm taking my big straight housemate, haven't been for a while, and it's fairly unnerving even for a seasoned homm...
I went to Blaydz with two friends last Saturday, and it was incredibly fun! Apart from a drunk old man who was trying to butt in our conversation by shouting randomly "yeah, wha'ever", the place was quite fun. They played the usual cheesy stuff, but later on the bar staff started dancing to several funny choreographies. It was well good, and it had a "local pub for dykes" kind of feel to it. While people were queueing up to go into Fibre, we were having unpretentious fun at Blaydz. Highly recommended.
I love HiFi, but haven't had the time to go for a looooooong time.
Bring back Poptastic!

Oooh, Blaydz! I've been there a couple of times now, and it is a really great place to go as it has a really great atmosphere, and the people always seem really cool and friendly.
I like the bar womans hair in Blaydz, its craaaayyyzzzeeee! I'm sure I know a guy who is friends with the women who own it (the bar, not the hair)....I'll check it out and mention his name in hope of free drinks

On a separate note, I vote we gay up Majestik.
Sounds like a plan!
Can we add Evolution (kirkstall) to the list, seems that the 20mins i spent there last year saw me get ****e 4 been gay twice, searched by the bouncers & accused of been a bloke, followed by been thrown out for telling bouncers where 2 go. Wouldn't have minded but i was out 4 my flatmates birthday n wernt causing no trouble...

The people from Stage Musical Society and the other musical society are always at Hi-Fi but the people there are a genreally a bit posh rather than being gay. Easy mistake to make though.

I love hifi on a wednesday. last yr the only place to be on a wednesday was motown night at hifi. we shood definitely do an lgbt raid on it. I'm guessing the ppl in there arent the types to pour drinks so we wont have to sick nic on anyone too. Although on that note it could be fun to let her loose on the chavs in majestyk

Ok would like to quote everyone on here everone is agreed we need a gay indie night.
The options are 1) The kamal club in huddersfield every tuesday we can storm their gay night... 2) Create our own at the union. 3) Form a co op and build our own club with ellected members to run it. 4) We gather together the fit members of the LGBT and offer them as a sacrefice to Terry George in return for an indie night. 5) We all stop bitching and move somewhere there is a gay indi night.
would like to add though whats wrong with the straight indi nights?....Your not all Hetrophobes are you because thats just not fair they are people too.....

Cockpit on a Friday is always fun. And my friend Kath gives out lollypops :)

one of my mates tried to make me go the new penny the other night. just say no, kids!
i really am still in mourning over the passing of leeds poptastic. admittedly i go out less now i'm working, but i think we need to tag more indie nights in leeds. some people i work with frequent the pit of cock, but i've not been there in yonks.
anyhow, as an alternative, my housemates and moi were thinking of starting a gay book group, one where the point would be to read really trashy gay fiction and bad porn and generally have a giggle. when i was bored in spain i wrote a smutty short story that gave my mate a boner ;)
whatever next, a gay bobsleigh team? cool bummings :)
can you tell the boredom has begun to set in?...

the lesbian team could be called "c*nt cummings" or "the lesbian bobsliegh team"
my gay badminton club (who are off to montreal for the gay olympics :O) are called northern flight - but i think it's a boring name. i'm sure something witty but tasteful could be made from the fact we play with a shuttlecock........
we could run a cock shuttle: where you have to wank off the person next to you, then when they cum they have to see to the person next to them, in a big circle. we can have a boys' team and a gurlies' team! anyone?
no? wonder why...

o god sooo many comments........
i have yet to understand where the hatred for mission eminates from. who cares if there are loads of pillheads in there, the fact that you'll always find some1 u know if nice. plus musics good.
i vote as well as gaying up hifi (which is a must) we gay up thinktank - or wire now i think its called. great indie night there!!
