We are five 2nd year Psychology students interested in researching identity in gay males aged 18-20. The research would involve a one-to-one interview lasting no more than 20 minutes, and the interview will be kept totally anonomous.
We are recruiting 5 participants for this study. Anyone kind enough to volunteer will get lots of chocolate!
If anyone would like more information, please feel free to email me on jhs5vt@leeds.ac.uk.
A group of undergraduate researchers from the school of Psychology are conducting research into the experiences of young gay men in contemporary society.
We are currently looking for seven male volunteers to participate in an interview about their experiences. The interview will last approximately 10 minutes. All data gathered from the interview will be kept anonymous and so will the participant's identity.
We would be extremely grateful if seven members of the LGBT society will volunteer to take part. We are currently aware that the LGBT holds coffee hours between 12-2 from Monday to Friday in the ARC. It will be possible to conduct interview's during this time.
As we are unable to contact the members of the LGBT society directly we have sent a general e-mail to the society in the hope it will be forwarded to the members. For those individuals that would like to volunteer to take part please don't hesitate to e-mail to either arrange a meeting or learn more about the interview. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Shamila Kafait ( on behalf of the six other researchers).
My name is Rhiannon Wilkey and I am a third year Student at UWE. I'm currently doing my 3rd year dissertation and would really appreciate your help. My project is about men's perspectives on clothing and appearance and I particularly need gay men's opinions. The questionaire will take 30 minutes maximum to fill out and all answers are completely anonymous.
Please let me know if you would be able to help, thank you for your time.
Were looking for a number of people who are LGBT to take part in group discussions about their faith and views and attitudes towards lesbian and gay rights in the UK. This is part of a research project led by Prof. Gill Valentine and Dr Charlotte Kenten in the Leeds Social Sciences Institute (LSSI) at the University of Leeds.
Were looking for at least 5 LGBT people who are Christian to take part in one group discussion and at least 5 LGBT people who are not Christian but belong to another faith (e.g. Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish etc to take part in another discussion group.
Full information about the research and what taking part would involve is included below.
The discussion will take place next week (w/c 24th October) in Leeds although a specific date/time will be arranged with those who agree to take part. It will either be held at LSSI which is on the main campus of the University of Leeds or another location in Leeds, if this is more appropriate/convenient for those who take part in the discussion.
Please could you pass this email onto your members/those on your mailing list or would one of your management committee be interested in helping us to directly find suitable people to take part in the discussion?
Many thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Please allow me to introduce myself - my name is Louise Waite and I work in Geography here at Leeds University.
I am involved in some research for Stonewall around equality issues in the light of the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights. We are running some faith-based group discussions with 5 or 6 people to talk about the issues detailed in the attached leaflet.
I am emailing you to ask if you are able to help. We are convening 2 focus groups - one with Christian lesbians and gay men, and one with lesbians and gay men of other faiths . We are running the first one tomorrow at 4pm on Tuesday 23rd October and the 2nd one at 6.30pm - both at LSSI (Beechgrove House, opp SU). I was hoping that you might have an email contact list that I could email (or you could) and we could invite interested people to participate in this group? I should also say that we can offer £20 per participant and the discussion will last for about 1 hour. I realise this all seems rather late (!) but we've had a few people drop out just today. Basically any help that you could offer would be hugely appreciated.
If you want to know any more, I can call you at any time at your convenience if you give me a number, or you can contact me on the below office number.
I look forward to hearing back from you. Best wishes Louise
my friends and i are in our second year of Cinema, Photography and TV Studies, (CPTV) and we have been tasked with making a short documentary film. We have chosen to do our documentary on homophobia and whether it is still prevelant today and in our generation, (we belive it is).
We are hoping if we could interview you and get your input on this subject as if you agreed it would be an extremely important part of our film.
You would be interviewed by our lesbian friend Anna Spragg who is a member of LGBT. It shouldn't take up much of your time and it would be very much apprieciated.
If you have any opinions on the subject, or any ideas on the direction you would like to take with it then please tell us beforehand.
If you are interested then please email back to this address, (cs06vkeb"leeds.ac.uk).
We're two dissertation students from Durham University conducting a dissertation study on lesbian and bisexual preferences for facial attraction across the menstrual cycle.
We're looking to recruit more participants for our study and wondered if you would be able to help us out. The study is all online and consists of completing a questionnaire and doing a facial attraction task which will need to be conducted each week for the length of your menstrual cycle. It is entirely confidential and anonymous, even from us, and your particpation would be really really appreciated.
Similar studies have been undertaken on hetrosexual populations therefore you would be participating in founding research which aims to fill a significant area of neglect in facial attraction studies.
We would be grateful if you forward this message to your mailing list/or a similar procedure depending on what your university lgbta does. If anyone is interested in conducting the study then please contact us at s.l.griffths@dur.ac.uk or m.l.lowe@dur.ac.uk and we'll give you the online link.
Hi Scott, I'm a fashion design BA student at the university. Myself and two other design students are currently investigating the relationship between males whom wear pink and their sexuality and the stereotypes that may surround this topic. We came across your profile via the LBGT facebook group and wondered if you could possibly help us in our research. We need to complete our research before the 17th Jan (we've left it rather late...as students do!) We have created a questionnaire and were wondering if you could possibly forward it to the male members of the LBGT on facebook? Sorry for the hassle but we would be incredibly incredibly grateful for your opinions on this topic and any help you can offer us! Thanks and regards, Jessica Fell, Vanessa Ball and Kailey Twigge (School of design)
(If you're interested, I suggest you message these girls on Faceboob. )
Our names are Catharine Gardiner and Katherine Gladwell, We are conducting a feasibility study for our coursework as part of our Events Management Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The study is to find out if the lgbt community would enlist the services of a gay wedding planner when they enter a civil partnership and whether it would be feasible to set up such a business.
To find this out we are conducting research in the form of a questionnaire (see attachment). It would be much appreciated if you could fill out the attached questionnaire then send it back to the below email address, clgardiner@hotmail.co.uk
If you are part of a society, it would be much appreciated if you could forward this email on to other members or friends, or print the questionnaire off for them and then post it back to the below address.
