Now, I may be a bit dense when it comes to these but is it possible to copy songs that are on an iPod into iTunes? I want to use it as some sort of backup so I can wipe my computer but dont want to lose all my music.
Anyone know what I can do?? Bear in mind I'm a bit slow with technology!

good question. as far as i know, you can only copy from iTunes to your player, not the other way round. would love to know how though as my old ipod is very poorly and i need to get my music onto my new one.

It's all gravy baby! I figured out how to do it after an hour or two of fiddling about with it. If anyone else cares to know you click to search the drive under my computer and search for MP4 files, even though they come up with stupid file names!
P.s. Dave you looked very offical serving me the other day!

Officially you can only transfer music bought from the Itunes Store from you ipod to another computer but if you enable 'disk use' you can back up all your music onto an ipod because it just treats the ipod as an external hard drive. Within iTunes (7 or above) when you insert your ipod, click on settings and then toward the bottom of the 'page' click 'enable disk use'. If you've enabled itunes to keep your music files organized (under 'advanced' tab in the properties), then all your files will be in the iTunes Library folder on your computer. Probably in the 'My Documents' or 'My Music' folders. If you need to (depending on the space available on your ipod and how much music you have on your computer), you'd want to erase anything on your ipod and then just drag your whole itunes library onto your ipod (when using 'My Computer' or something like that in Windows.
It sounds complicated but after the first time you've done it, it's not.
Elsewhere, you might want to read this: http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/wireless/ontherun/archives/how-to-copy-music-from-your-ipod-to-your-itunes-library-5615
or here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313-fr perhaps if you change the ending to -en it will make the article in English. My computer's all in French now...

Oh, and I'm sure I heard a rumour that Creative were suing Apple for ripping off a few of their ideas (like the scrolly scrolly thing).
